GEN WELL TO SHOW PRIME TIME TV AUDIENCE THE CRITICAL ROLE PHARMACISTS PLAY IN MANAGING GENERATIONAL HEALTH AND WELLNESS
Amcal and its pharmacists will play a starring role in a new Foxtel Original health and wellness series titled GEN WELL, debuting on Foxtel’s Lifestyle Channel and streaming on BINGE starting Monday, 5 May 2025.
Hosted by Australian TV personality Ali Daddo, GEN WELL, in partnership with Amcal, will explore diverse health concerns faced by Australians through the lens of multigenerational families.
This ten-part new weekly wellness series evokes an inspiring and fresh perspective on how Australian families can take meaningful steps to improve their overall health, supported by psychologists, instructors, academics, health practitioners, and Amcal pharmacists.
At the heart of the series, viewers will follow families embarking on their wellness journeys, from navigating the challenges of stress and sleep, to tackling life transitions such as pregnancy, postpartum, and menopause. With help from health professionals and our partners – 2San, Bioglan, Blackmores, Clearblue, Codral, Ferro-grad C and Ostelin, the series offers insightful, real-life stories and expert advice that empowers viewers to make informed choices about their health and wellness.
Sigma’s Chief Pharmacist Lia Mahony appears in a number of episodes of the new series and shared that the experience of working with families illuminated the vital role pharmacies play in our communities.
“GEN WELL is an innovative way to demonstrate how your local pharmacist can support everyone’s health journey. Pharmacists are so much more than dispensers of medication. GEN WELL showcases how Amcal pharmacists can provide support to stay active, offer advice on improving sleep, or simply check in on your general health and wellbeing,” she explained.
“I love the multigenerational, whole-of-life aspects of GEN WELL. I had the opportunity to meet some amazing family groups, from bubs to grandparents. There is proven evidence that strong family relationships contribute to good health. The diversity within the family groups in GEN WELL highlights the wonderful diversity we see in families across Australia,” Lia said.
Renee Watson, Sigma Healthcare Head of Retail Operations remarked, “It’s an incredible opportunity for Amcal to partner with Foxtel on a prime-time series that embodies the essence of the Amcal brand. As our pharmacists support the health and wellbeing of multigenerational families every day, showcasing these stories to the Foxtel and Lifestyle audience reinforces how Amcal continues to help Australians feel well and stay well.”
Wendy Moore, Executive Director of Entertainment Content at Foxtel Group, said, “We’re incredibly proud of the GEN WELL program, which is yet another example of the strong and ongoing collaboration between Foxtel and our valued partners. It’s exciting to bring this partnership with Amcal to life, working with such respected brands allows us to create and deliver high quality content that connects with our Foxtel and Lifestyle audiences in a meaningful way.”
“GEN WELL is a powerful addition to our growing portfolio, offering insightful, real-life stories and expert advice that empower viewers to make informed choices about their health and wellness,” she added.
