We are delighted to announce Hugo Ortiz as the new Head of Discount Drug Stores, effective from 16 January 2023. Hugo is taking over the role from Patrick Stoll, who is moving on after dedicating 12 years to growing the DDS brand.

Hugo was previously the General Manager & Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Advantage Pharmacy Group & Chemist Discount Centre, and most recently, COO of Pharmacy Platform Group. He said he is looking forward to leading the DDS brand, the exciting growth opportunities ahead, and meeting as many of our dedicated DDS franchise partners as possible in the near future.

“What excites me the most about becoming Head of DDS is the commitment and direction set by Sigma’s CEO and leadership team to fully back the brand. We want to take DDS back to its roots, where it will play a more significant role in the discount pharmacy segment while still having a strong backbone in providing healthcare solutions for its customers,” he said.
