Sigma has again led the way by acknowledging the leading suppliers to the Pharmaceutical industry in a glittering gala event at the Plaza Ballroom in Melbourne in front of over 350 guests.
The 2015 Sigma Supplier Gala held last night saw GSK announced as the Sigma Supplier of the Year Award winner, along with 11 other awards announced in a range of categories, highlighting the important business partnerships between suppliers and Sigma’s retail and wholesale business.
The gala awards were also attended by a number of Sigma Ambassadors including model and TV celebrity Rachael Finch, and doctor and TV personality Dr Cindy Pan. A key feature of the night was the fundraising for Sigma’s new charity partner Carers Australia.
Sigma Chief Executive Officer Mark Hooper commented “Our major winner GSK has consistently demonstrated an extremely high level of service, which not only benefits our business to service our customers, but ultimately benefits the general public who use those products and services. That’s why investing and supporting the supply chain is so important.”
“GSK have proven to be a great business partner to Sigma over a very long period, and their commitment to continuous improvement, particularly over the past twelve months is being recognised.” Mr Hooper said.
Stephen Brown, Head of Sales of GSK commented “To achieve this award is a fantastic honour. Twelve months ago we set ourselves specific targets to drive our operational performance and service standards to a new level. I am so proud of my team’s efforts and the partnerships they have maintained with Sigma. Whilst we didn’t make changes to win awards, it is certainly rewarding for our team to know that their efforts are recognised.”

Our aim is to continuously improve service standards and consistency in the supply chain.”
“Sigma has recently extended its supplier relationships beyond the supply of product, providing suppliers the opportunity to partner in other ways including, Professional Services, Multi Channel, Loyalty, and consumer insights and data sharing. Having joint business plans create value for all that can be shared equitably,” Mr Dunne said.
In total the event raised more than $40,000 for Carers Australia. The charity’s CEO Ara Creswell was present at the event and thanked Sigma and all attendees for their generous support as the starting point to building a deeper relationship between the two organisations.
A private dancing lesson was kindly offered for auction by Sigma Ambassador Rachael Finch and her husband (professional dance instructor) Michael Miziner. The pair, who met on the stage of Channel 7’s hit series Dancing with the Stars, performed a dance routine to the delight of the crowd, and raised $1,000 to go to Carers Australia.
Sigma CEO Mark Hooper concluded: “As a major healthcare services provider in Australia, it was very satisfying that tonight we not only recognised our wonderful business partners, but we also raised significant funds to help those who help others. We acknowledge the critical role that carers play in our health sector, and thank Rachael and Michael for their generous support.”Back
