How Sigma Healthcare continues to respond to COVID-19
We appreciate how difficult these current circumstances are for our team members, customers, patients and communities. We are here to help.
During these unusual circumstances, our focus is to implement practices that enable us to continue to service our pharmacies, their patients and local communities.
How we are helping our customers and partners:
We are providing our partners with ongoing financial guidance and support to access federal government assistance programs as well as providing regular updates on restrictions and changes to legislation.
Partners have access to the Pharmacy Team Contingency Planning Toolkit, relevant Webinars and an on call crew service.
In Store Safety
With safety our number one priority, we are ensuring hand sanitiser; PPE clothing, masks and Perspex screens; and effective cleaning products are available for our customers.
With our customers in mind, we are excited to have launched a new delivery platform to provide a more convenient home delivery pharmacy service. For more information on this new service, please see the link below.
To ensure we can continue to service and support the community, we have put in place the following measures:
Business Continuity Plans
Continuously reviewing and updating our Business Continuity Plans (BCP), as required, to ensure we are prepared for a variety of potential scenarios.
COVID-19 Working Group
Established a cross-functional COVID-19 Working Group to monitor the evolving situation, identify potential business risks and recommend mitigations.
COVID Safe Response Plan
Implemented and refreshed appropriate COVID Safe Plans across our sites which include good hygiene practices, face mask protocols and education to team members to prevent the spread of the disease.
Cleaning and Sanitisation
Implemented additional cleaning and sanitisation of all our sites, particularly for high-contact areas and counters.
Sigma team members continued to provide support and service to our customers via phone, email and in store/on site at our customers’ pharmacies, hospitals, aged care facilities, only when safe to do so, to help alleviate the risk of exposure and transmission of COVID-19.
Implemented policies and practices to enable our office-based staff to work from home, as required, while still ensuring continuity of business operations. Our warehouse teams continue to work on site as part of our essential operations to ensure continuity of customer supply.
Additional Health and Safety Steps
Introduced additional health and safety steps at our MPS TGA accredited facilities to minimise potential risks to patients.
Visitors to our sites are restricted to those critical to ongoing business continuity and only admitted after satisfactorily meeting screening requirements. Where there is a COVID-19 risk, visitors will be denied access to the site and asked to rearrange their meeting by alternative means.
Providing Emotional Support
Continuing access to our Employee Assistance Program for Team Members and their families
